I was optimistic, back in January, when I received that package so promptly that things were turning around, but the other package that I was waiting on at that time ended up taking over 5 weeks to arrive. So there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the shipping times - not surprising when U.S. Customs is involved. I speculate that it depends on how many stamp sets you order (possibly the weight of the package) because both orders that I have received that only contained one stamp set, arrived in record time, but the package that had 3 sets plus a paper pack took over 5 weeks. But this is just speculation on my part. :?:

I do believe that I have given up on trying to figure anything out when it comes to the US Postal Service. They baffle me in just about every aspect of their business!

I think that the closest I will get to an answer is my suspicion that some of my orders are being sent out as surface mail, DESPITE my requesting and paying for Airmail. I am told by Royal Mail that they must defer to the Aviation Authority who implements the US Homeland Security measures.

They were not able to tell me why some parcels were delayed while some got through as normal, but looking at what has been longest to arrive, it seems that larger orders are taking longer and so I suspect they are sending heavier items by boat. Despite the fact that I accurately fill all customs info.

As of today I have begun sending larger orders via a special service at my own expense. I will only be able to do this for a couple of days until I get the other shipping options loaded to the store and then I will have to offer the choice to customers.

I am horrified at the length of time it has taken some orders to get through and I am super annoyed that there has been very little that I could do about it. My apologies to anyone who has been affected.

Claire, I am sure everyone realises you are doing all you can. The Postal Service is a law unto themselves. Please don't beat yourself up about this. This is beyond your Sphere of Control.
